NASA RECOMMENDED AAA MEETING EVENTS FOR STUDENTS

The new guide appear sometime in 2017 after the AAA publishes the preview schedule. In the meanwhile we recommend checking out last year’s guide below for some ideas of good events to go to.

2016 Guide

First off we recommend the mentoring events listed here http://www.americananthro.org/AttendEvents/Content.aspx?ItemNumber=14769
the NAPA Career Expo listed here
http://www.americananthro.org/AttendEvents/Content.aspx?ItemNumber=14762
As well as the Graduate School Fair listed

Secondly we recommend the 115th Annual Meeting Opening Keynote Address delivered by Melissa Harris-Perry as well as the Welcome Reception afterwards: Wednesday, November 16  6:30pm-8:30pm. Also the AAA Annual Business Meeting: Friday, November 18  6:15pm-7:30pm where one can learn about the greater workings of the association and see it in action.

Finally, but not last – excepting the Board Meeting (which is only for Officers) we recommend going to as many of the events listed in the scheduler at sponsored by NASA but particularly the following two:

NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF STUDENT ANTHROPOLOGISTS (NASA) BUSINESS MEETING

Thursday, November 17, 2016; 12:15 PM-1:30 PM

STUDENT ORIENTATION TO THE AAA AND NETWORKING EVENT

Thursday, November 17, 2016; 6:15 PM-7:30 PM

NOTE: We also recommend using the AAA online guide as well as finding announcements on the various section websites of sessions being organized which suit your research and/or personal interests.
